Newlands is only 3 miles away from the bustling market town of Keswick. Within the town you can expand your mind in "The Puzzling Place" or see the largest pencil in the World at the Cumberland Pencil Museum. There are a number of outdoor/climbing shops where you can obtain those new waterproofs or you can test your climbing skills on the indoor Climbing Wall.

After having worked up an appetite you can try one of the many restaurants in the town, including modern-English, Italian, Indian, Mexican or Chinese.
